Saddle up for Red Dead Redemption 2 with one of Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro console bundles and you're in for a surprise treat - you'll also be picking up an all-new revision of the PS4 Pro hardware.

The only other difference with the new PS4 Pro model is the power plug port adopts the same figure of eight shape as the PS4 slim.

This new model runs a few decibels quieter than a previously updated version Sony released in 2017, which itself ran a few decibels quieter than the original 2016 model.

While the PS4 Pro might be the most powerful console on Sony's roster, it doesn't come without drawbacks. The new PlayStation 4 Pro with model number CUH-7200 is said to be significantly quieter than the previous version, which was often reported to reach jet engine decibel levels.

The reduction apparently comes from a new type of power supply. In the United Kingdom, at least, Digital Foundry believes CUH-7200s are only being distributed as part of the Red Dead Redemption 2 bundle pack for the time being, but a full rollout is nearly certain to follow soon. If previous reports of noise issues have put you off of buying a PS4 Pro and enjoying 4K gaming, you can put those concerns to rest as Digital Foundry report little more than a constant hum during normal gameplay.
