Following the controversy over Sarkar film, AR Murugadoss had applied for anticipatory bail at Madras High Court. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has approved these alterations. The ruling leaders of Tamilnadu pointed a couple of scenes that seem to be instigating violation against the government and warned the makers to face legal action if the scenes are not voluntarily cropped. The police later clarified that the cops had not gone to Murugadoss' residence to arrest him as no FIR has been registered against the director. The CBFC also approved muting of the words "Komala" in Komalavalli, dialogues which spoke about "Podhuppanithurai" (Public Works Department), and "56 varusham" (56 years), according to the release. The scene is a swipe at the freebie culture that exists in Tamil Nadu. Soon several celebrities came out to support AR Murugadoss. In some places, the protestors resorted to tearing the banners of Vijay erected by the fans inside the theatre premises and shouting slogans demanding Murugadoss' arrest.
