He played a part in Liverpool's 96th minute victor against Everton on Sunday, with his miscued shot looping to Jordan Pickford, who fumbled in the direction of goalscorer Divock Origi.

"I have to apologise because I didn't want to be disrespectful - but I couldn't stop myself", Klopp said, per BBC Sport.

"Both teams delivered a proper fight, proper derby from the first second", Klopp said.

Liverpool, meanwhile, could be without Sadio Mané for Wednesday's visit to Burnley. I don't know what he did and the way he did it. I think we were [lacking] with the [final] decision but we did really well and we didn't deserve this result.

The days of rolling over and being frightened have gone, I only see improvement in this Everton team.

Everton counterpart Marco Silva said he had no issue with Klopp's actions. When Lookman has the ball at his feet you get the feeling anything can happen, and I hope we keep hold onto him and see him flourish.

Watford are 10th in the table and without a win in four games but Guardiola feels they are in good hands in fellow Spaniard Javi Gracia, who signed a new long-term contract at Vicarage Road last week.
