If there was an award for the goriest trailer at The Game Awards then it would definitely have gone to the new Mortal Kombat... which is exactly what fans would've hoped and expected.

Mortal Kombat 11 deepens and personalizes the experience unlike ever before with an all new Custom Character Variation System that gives players the creative control of building customized versions of the character roster. The new graphics engine showcasing every skull-shattering, eye-popping moment, brings you so close to the fight you can feel it. In addition, the game will introduce a new cinematic story that continues the epic saga that is more than 25 years in the making.

You won't have to wait long though as a "community reveal event" is planned for January 17 and the game itself is out on April 23. It will be livestreamed globally on NetherRealm's Twitch channel and will feature a keynote presentation.
