Sandra Oh, Andy Samberg to Host 76th Golden Globe Awards

This announcement comes just one day before the nominees for next year's Globes will be announced, with both Samberg and Oh likely contenders for their work on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Killing Eve, respectively.

The two celebrities will be first-time hosts for the Golden Globes, which honour television and film.

The Golden Globes air on NBC on January 6 at 8 p.m. EST.

"I am exclusively going to be watching the Golden Globes for Sandra Oh and when she's not on screen I will be looking at Instagram send tweet", one fan commented.

Sandra took home a Golden Globe in 2006 for her role as Dr. Cristina Yang in the still running ABC drama, Grey's Anatomy.

"Sandra and Andy are the ideal choices to host this world-class event", Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks, co-chairmen of Globes broadcaster NBC Entertainment, said in a statement on Wednesday, adding they would bring "wit, charm and style" to the ceremony.

"We are thrilled to have Sandra and Andy co-hosting the Golden Globes", said Mike Mahan, Executive Producer, and CEO, dick clark productions. "This innovative pairing sets the flawless tone for the most entertaining awards celebration of the year". "It's sure to be another unforgettable fun-filled night", co-chairmen of NBC Entertainment Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks said in a statement.

The actors are both Golden Globe winners themselves.

Meher Tatna, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which hosts the annual Golden Globes show, said he was looking forward to seeing the duo's "undeniable chemistry" onstage. Allen Shapiro, Executive Chairman of dick clark productions, Mike Mahan, CEO of dick clark productions and Barry Adelman, Executive VP of Television at dick clark productions, will serve as executive producers.
