For the Bucks, this is a salary-clearing situation as they'll save $18 million in cap space for the 2019-20 season.

It was reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski (and ESPN's Brian Windhorst) that the Cavs traded George Hill to the Milwaukee Bucks for Matthew Dellavedova, John Henson and a future first and second-round draft pick.

It's a win-win situation for all three teams as the Bucks look to solidify themselves as an elite team in the Eastern Conference, the Cavs continue to rebuild and the Wizards add the 3-point threat that they've lacked all season.

"We're excited to welcome George and Jason to the Bucks organization", GM Jon Horst said.

It appears that he has helped Cleveland rookie point guard Collin Sexton for when Sexton took over the starting point guard role when Hill was sidelined with a reported shoulder injury, and now on a contending team in Milwaukee, Hill won't be taking minutes away from Sexton in crunch time. The Cavs are re-shaping their roster with an eye on landing a major free agent in 2020, and Hill was no longer part of the long-term plans because of his age and the team's commitment to Sexton's development.

The 28-year-old Dellavedova will get a chance re-start his career with the Cavs.

Hill, who was acquired by the Cavaliers from Sacremento at the trade deadline last season, is now averaging 10.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.

Dellavedova (6-4, 200) played his first three NBA seasons with the Cavaliers from 2013-2016 and was a member of Cleveland's 2016 NBA Championship team.

"Both George and Sam Dekker went about their work here with professionalism and class and we wish them the best".

On the surface, Dellavedova's stats of 1.7 points per game on 32 percent shooting don't indicate that he will move the needle for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Dekker was in his first season with the Cavs, who got him in an August trade with the Los Angeles Clippers.
