A spokesperson of Ashoka Cinema, the other single screen where the film was stopped, said, "We have made a decision to suspend the matinee show of "The Accidental Prime Minister" from today in view of the agitations by some group". Guess the people of the nation are interested in knowing what happened in the corridors of power when Manmohan Singh was our Prime Minister. The movie has been mired in controversies.

Debutant Vijay Ratnakar Gutte's The Accidental Prime Minister began its box office journey with a fairly good start despite receiving poor reviews from critics for its weak narration and cliched performances.

The much-debated movie of 2019, The Accidental Prime Minister starring Anupam Kher as the former PM, Dr Manmohan Singh hit theatres on January 12. He also refuted allegations that the film favoured the ruling party.

That prompted VMRO-DPMNE leaders to denounce "bribes and threats" used by Zaev to reach the necessary majority. Tsipras spoke with Zaev on Friday to congratulate him after the vote, the Greek prime minister's office said.

Apart from Anupam Kher, the political drama features Akshaye Khanna as Sanjaya Baru, Arjun Mathur, Aahana Kumra, and Suzanne Bernert in the role of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi respectively. The social media users and celebrities are appreciating the powerful actor by both Anupam and Akshaye in the film. There is a lot of curiosity and some political "hungama" also being on the film and lot of supreme court and all that stuff is also happening. But I feel it's a niche film, catering to the top metros and multiplexes only. That has worked tremendously in its favour as the movie earned Rs 4.50 crore on day 1.
