Barcelona and Sevilla have reached an agreement for the transfer of forward Munir El Haddadi to Seville pending a medical and contract.

The 23-year-old's Barca contract was due to expire at the end of the season, allowing their La Liga rivals Sevilla to sign him on a cut-price deal.

Morata is highly paid in England and Barcelona are not looking for a starting striker, instead a backup to Suarez, and the Spaniard does not have the backing of everyone at the club.

"It seems Munir has taken a decision and, evidently, the club have also made a decision", Valverde said in a news conference on Wednesday. "If that can be this month, even better".

The Nerazzurri management are hoping to get things ironed out in no more than three meetings. The current status of negotiations is certainly complex.

FC Barcelona have already brought in one player this month, but the club have now confirmed their first departure in the January transfer window.

He is fluent in playing across the front line, although he has been deployed primarily through the center by Barcelona this season. He has won one worldwide cap for Spain, in September 2014.

Sevilla had met with Morata's representatives over a potential deal but found the proposed loan move too expensive. He says the club will look at several options.

Munir became Sevilla's second signing of the day, following their capture of Ajax defender Max Wober earlier on Friday.
