"Those who are indulging in politics before the elections by making such a movie should also watch another movie titled as Disastrous Prime Minister".

State Culture Minister and eminent singer Indranil Sen said that no instructions have been given to stop screening of the movie. The much-anticipated film based on Sanjaya Baru, the media advisor of Dr Manmohan Singh who served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014 is expected to garner good digits as the box office.

Actors Anupam Kher and Akshay Khanna play Manmohan Singh and Baru in the film, slated to release on Friday.

Anupam Kher's mother has praised Dr. Manmohan Singh after watching "The Accidental Prime Minister", in which Kher has stepped into the shoes of the former PM. He had said, "For how long can we keep selling the poverty of India, the backwardness of India, the backward class of India, the class distinction in India, the elephants in India, the monkeys in India?"

"The official stand of the Indian National Congress on the "Accidental Prime Minister" is that we have nothing to do with it".
