Reigning Heisman Trophy victor Kyler Murray announced that he will commit himself to pursuing the NFL instead of a Major League Baseball career.

The Oakland A's had hoped that 2018 first-round pick Kyler Murray would report to spring training, but that's clearly not going to happen.

Relating to the Patriots, they will always be interested in quarterbacks as long as Tom Brady is still on the roster since they need to find an eventual replacement.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network noted that Murray received about a $5 million signing bonus from Oakland (which he'll have to repay), and if he's the last pick in the NFL's first round, he'll get almost $5 million as a signing bonus and roughly $10 million guaranteed.

Not exactly the prototypical NFL size - and Chris Grier, the Dolphins' head of everything football, usually sticks to prototypes. Football has been my love and passion my entire life. "I eagerly await the opportunity to continue to prove the National Football League decision makers that I am the franchise QB in this draft", Murray wrote.

Kyler Murray has made his choice.

She said the country's "sense of community is fracturing" today, "worn down by the petty and vicious nature of our politics". John Bessler grew up in Mankato and his parents are Bill and Marilyn Bessler, who both taught at Minnesota State University.

"Quarterback is a very demanding position, as is being a Major League baseball player", Beane said.

At the end of the college football season, he talked about pursuing both sports simultaneously.

Murray's accountants will be busy sorting things out now that he has announced his decision.

Jeff Passan, a writer for ESPN, tweeted that Murray will have to return $1.29 million of his signing bonus money that he has already received, and he forfeits the remaining $3.16 million.

Technically, the Athletics will be able to retain the rights to Murray, in the event that he ever has a change of heart or is forced to alter his career path. Mayfield, the No. 1 overall pick last April, can expect to earn just under $33 million over his rookie contract with the Cleveland Browns, including a signing bonus of more than $22 million.
