Freezing drizzle is expected or occurring in the Guelph area

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory as the region gets hit with freezing drizzle this afternoon (Wednesday).

Mainly cloudy with 60 per cent chance of light snow or freezing drizzle in the morning.

"Challenging winter travelling conditions are expected today due to the prolonged period of icing".

The second round of ice arrives with freezing rain on Wednesday.

Toronto police also tell CP24 that they have responded to 30 collisions between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., though no serious injuries were reported in any of those collisions. "In the wake of this weather system, strong westerly winds with gusts in the 70 to 90 km/h range may be possible".
