It's the first sweet treat McDonald's will be offering exclusively at breakfast, the company said.

Technically called Donut Sticks, the addition is McDonald's take on Dunkin's popular "Donut Fries", a limited-time menu item that made its debut at the competitor last July.

The confection will arrive in participating restaurants nationwide on February 20, according to a news release. "They're sprinkled with cinnamon sugar for a crunchy outside and soft, doughy inside, and served warm to customers". "Donut Sticks are the flawless complement to our existing breakfast lineup, and pair deliciously with our fresh brewed premium roast McCafé coffee".

A detailed design contract, however, can only be concluded after the signing of the SPA. The next group of engineers will depart for France in March 2019.

The Donut Sticks are not microwaved, but flash-fried.

The much-rumored addition to the breakfast menu follows two periods of testing, first in some IL restaurants in early 2018 and then again in October. Since McDonald's sees them as the ideal treat to go with their coffee, there will be a special price when you get a half-dozen Donut Sticks and small McCafé coffee. "We are thrilled to be making breakfast at McDonald's even more delicious by introducing Donut Sticks".
