Michelle Obama made a surprise appearance on the Grammys stage Sunday to deliver a message about music and women's empowerment alongside superstars Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, host Alicia Keys and actress Jada Pinkett-Smith.

As Obama and Keys shared an embrace, we loved that the two powerhouse ladies opted for trousers instead of dresses! "Music has always been the one place where we can all feel truly free".

Cuban-born Camila Cabello kicked off the televised show with a dance-heavy performance of her hit single Havana with Latin artists J Balvin, Ricky Martin and Young Thug. She is one of the most loved personalities across the globe and her book was also among the best sellers.

Keys, Gaga, Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Janelle Monae, Diana Ross, Katy Perry and best country album Grammy victor Kacey Musgraves also performed. When Alicia Keys lost "Song of the Year" to John Mayer in 2004, even he knew there'd been some kind of mistake.

Singer-songwriter Alicia Keys thrilled as host of the 2019 Grammy Awards, and people on social media were celebrating her positive vibes. "I'm in tears with honor and gratitude", she wrote on Twitter after her first win.

She accessorised her look with white gloves which featured long tassels falling from the garments. He, tragically, passed away later in the year. "You, husband, thank you", Cardi said to Offset .

It looks like the Grammy Awards will be embroiled in drama, yet again.

Michelle said, "Music helps us share ourselves, our dignity and sorrows, our hopes our joys". Later on stage, she showed off her raw musical talents by playing two pianos at once, and covering songs from Nat King Cole to Kings of Leon. Producer Boi-1da and Americana singer Brandi Carlile are behind them with six apiece.

After Cardi B won her best rap album award, a woman fell on stage and was helped by production.

And then she proceeded to show them just how she was going to do that by making sure they started the night off on the right foot.
