Trump didn't indicate when he'll present the medal to Woods.

"Spoke to Tiger Woods to congratulate him on the great victory he had", Trump tweeted, and "to inform him that because of his incredible Success & Comeback in Sports (Golf) and, more importantly, LIFE, I will be presenting him with the PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM!" Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus were honored by president George W. Bush in 2004 and 2005, respectively.

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the nation's highest civilian honor.

President Obama gave medals to a host of legends, many of whose contributions transcended their respective sports: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Yogi Berra, Michael Jordan, Vin Scully, Willie Mays and Charles Sifford, the first African American professional golfer on the PGA Tour.

Microsoft's 'All Digital' Xbox One tipped to arrive this week
It will have a 1TB drive for storage; support HDR and 4K UHD; and include Minecraft , Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 3 . If you want to download any more games, you'll have to do so digitally through the Xbox Games Store.

The pro-golfer and Trump have known each other for over two decades and occasionally play golf together.

Since taking office Trump has given the award to several athletes including former professional National Football League players Roger Staubach and Alan Page and late professional baseball player George Herman "Babe" Ruth, Jr.

Woods now has 15 major championship wins to his name and is three away from equalling the all-time record of 18 - set by Nicklaus.

Woods' victory marked his first Masters victory in 14 years, after a series of back problems and personal problems threatened to end his career.
