Facebook is inaccessible to some users across the world, according to Downdetector, a website which monitors outages.

The outages, which started at about 12.30pm South African time, were still not resolved an hour later.

Moreover, WhatsApp users can't update their status, "sent message status" is pending, and everything is stuck at the moment.

Separately, Downdetector.com also showed that there were issues with WhatsApp and Instagram, but with relatively lower count of outage reports.

Facebook Inc, which owns and operates all three services, has yet to comment on the disruption. This not only affects Malaysian users but it also appears to affect global users as well.

Last month, Facebook experienced its worst outage ever.

Some media outlets had branded the outage - which also affected Instagram as well as Messenger - as the biggest in Facebook's history.
