"There may be some connection to Columbine but it wasn't a specific directed threat towards Columbine".

An unidentified FBI Miami agent answered the door Tuesday afternoon, but would not disclose details of the visit. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, camouflage trousers and black boots and was last seen in the Jefferson County foothills.

CBS News has learned from a law enforcement official that Pais is believed to have traveled to Colorado from South Florida Monday night.

Denver Public Schools said that all facilities and programmes will be closed on Wednesday, and there will be no afternoon activities or athletic competitions.

In the years since the massacre, the shooting has become a grim obsession for people known as "Columbiners".

According to investigators, Pais is responsible for a credible threat made against several schools in the area.

The FBI's Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force issued a notice on Tuesday describing Pais as "infatuated with (the) Columbine school shooting". "She is armed and considered unsafe", said Mike Taplin with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, CBS Denver reported. It's not clear where she came from.

At 2:48 p.m. the Colorado Department of Education tweeted: "Due to a credible threat to schools by an individual identified by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Public Safety recommends all schools in the Denver metro area conduct a lockout and controlled release immediately".

But "what we are saying is, to have a message that appeals to people in a way that does not menace them", she said. If they did, would it matter? But many rushed to her support after Trump's attack.

Tuesday's lockout, less serious than a public safety "lockdown", means activities inside schools may continue as usual but entry and exit are restricted, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said on Twitter. Some say they just want to pay their respects, but others claim they are in love with the shooters - or sometimes that they have been reincarnated with the shooters' souls.

Columbine High School in the United States was placed into lockdown by a possible threat posed just days before the 20th anniversary of the mass shooting that killed 13 people.

"Please do not approach her as she is considered armed and unsafe".

All schools in the Denver area are being urged to tighten security after what appears to be a credible threat caused a lockout at Columbine High School and more than 20 other schools in the area.

No students were injured, and the lockdown was a precaution recommended by the Colorado Department of Education.

The 20th anniversary of the shooting at Columbine High School is days away.

U.S. authorities are looking for a young woman who is "infatuated" with the 1999 shooting at Columbine High School and made threats just days before the 20th anniversary of the attack that killed 13 people.

She was last seen in the foothills of Jefferson County Monday, but the exact location was not divulged. He said once they detain her, they will hold her for as long as they legally can.
