"Ran out of time there".

Truex also had to survive a tight battle for the lead of about 30 laps with two-time Richmond victor Clint Bowyer, who finished third as Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top five. A year ago, Truex won four races and finished second in his bid for a second championship.

The format was three rounds of five minutes each and unlike recent qualifying sessions there was no controversy with drivers waiting too long to go out on track and miss putting up an official lap time.

"When you're frustrated with second, that's a good sign about where your team's at".

In 2019 Busch acquired his first win at ISM Raceway, and this is what qualified him for the 16-driver, 1o-race playoffs in the fall.

However, when it came time to replicate that charge in the final laps, Logano came up just a little bit short.

"If we can win three in a row here at Richmond and match names like that - the Godfathers of our sport that built our sport to what it is today - would be pretty cool", he said. "It's a father-daughter year so we're looking to end up in that winner's circle together". "Everyone at JGR is doing a great job...we've been chipping away at it, so hopefully we can get better from here on out". "It's just frustrating. We were faster than him".

Where the short tracks are concerned, Kevin Harvick and his No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing team appear to have turned a corner. Fun race, just gosh. "I mean, massively tight in traffic", he said. I knew if the No. 22 got to my outside, that position was gone. "I could just roll out, and here it doesn't benefit you to wait so you just roll out and get your lap in". Brad Keselowski dropped to eighth during the cycle and Kyle Busch, seeking his third victory in a row on the 0.75-mile, D-shaped oval, his fourth of the season and second in a row, fell back to 10th.

Leganes 1-1 Real Madrid: Zinedine Zidane's side held by neighbours
Third-placed Madrid plays Leganes on Monday. "We can play better, and we must play better". "We have to give a little bit more". Every player is good and important.

"I was able to get to the 19, but it just wasn't enough", he noted.

"Then you have to figure out how to rebound and get back".

"I just couldn't get there".

"We were the fastest vehicle on the long run, we clearly weren't the fastest auto".

NASCAR will still inspect cars and parts at the R&D Center as needed to evaluate technical trends, but the more comprehensive at-track inspection will take priority.

The good news for Logano?

Busch led 101 laps-second only to Truex's 186-but a speeding penalty under caution on Lap 131 after Kyle Larson's hard crash into the Turn 1 wall knocked Busch back to 26, and he was unable to work his way back to the front.

However, he'll likely wonder what might have been, after coming up a few feet and a lap or two short of another Cup Series victory on Saturday under the Richmond floodlights.
