Selena Gomez is opening up about the dark side of social media as she inches back into the spotlight. Gomez, who has more than 150 million Instagram followers, has also posted less on social media than many other celebs amid her struggles. The 26-year-old actress is now attending her first Cannes Film Festival and discussed why she doesn't post pointless pictures on social media.

Speaking after her politically-charged zombie flick, Jim Jarmusch's The Dead Don't Die, opened the Cannes film festival, Gomez said the platforms that helped make her famous were destructive in the wrong hands.

"I'm very grateful I have the platform in any way, I can still share things I'm passionate about", she said. "It's selfish - I don't wanna say selfish because it feels rude - but it's risky for sure".

"It can be great in moments but I would just be careful and allow yourself some time limits when you use it and when you shouldn't". I'll see these young girls at meet and greets. The Chanel look she wore today is actually the same suit Kristen Stewart wore during last year's Cannes Film Festival, only that version was rendered in white. They are devastated, dealing with bullying and not being able to have their own voice.

"Please stop reading into things so much and making something out of nothing". They are not aware of the news.

"I chose to take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone", she said in response. She wrote, "Not flawless, Always me" in some of the pieces of her line for Coach and had her favorite Bible verse stitched into the dress and matching handbag she wore to the "Heavenly Bodies"-themed 2018 Met Gala". Moore wore a loose-fitting suit paired with a Louis Vuitton cross-body bag and Givenchy's coveted George V sock sneakers, while Fanning paired her beige linen suit with a blue button up, Gucci sandals, a red Chanel belt bag and of course, a personalised Louis Vuitton luggage set. Many of Hina Khan's fans took to their social media pages to compliment and congratulate the actress.

Her outing marks Selena's third-ever event at the prestigious film fest in which Eva Longoria, Javier Bardem, Julianne Moore, and more A-listers are also in attendance.
