India batting coach Sanjay Bangar said while the team will be missing the services of injured Shikhar Dhawan but they will be fine considering the depth of their squad.

Dhawan has been ruled out of three weeks due to a thumb fracture which he sustained during his match-winning hundred in the clash against Australia on Sunday.

According to the sources, Shikhar Dhawan's possible replacement could either be Shreyas Iyer or Rishabh Pant. He had been hit on his left thumb during India's match against defending champions Australia at The Oval on Sunday. He should be ready in time to come into the Indian playing XI if needed for the game against New Zealand.

"Dhawan sustained an injury on the back of his left hand in the region between the index finger and thumb...", it added. Instead, the Indian team has kept the opening batsman under observation.

Dhawan suffered the injury as a result of a nasty blow from a rising delivery by Australia paceman Pat Cummins in the early phase of his innings but went on to complete his 17th one-day worldwide century.
