If you refreshed your Instagram feed 47 times with no luck Thursday evening, you weren't alone.

"Earlier today, a technical issue caused some people to have trouble accessing their Instagram accounts".

Some users reported that they couldn't access Instagram at all, while others just couldn't do any searches, or access other parts of the service. Please try again later'.

Users in Europe, most of the US, South America, Australia, Russia and other regions appear to be those hit hardest by the outage, according to Down Detector.

Given the wide scale of the outage, it suggests the issue was with Instagram's servers or the underlying infrastructure that allows users to gain access to the company's network.

This was confirmed by the official PSN site, who said that issues are affecting the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita platforms.
