Kylie Jenner threw a huge party for her BFF Anastasia Karanikolaou's 21st over the weekend and many fans online are calling her out for having a Handmaid's Tale theme with it.

The pair's friendship has been strained since February, when Jordyn shared a kiss with Tristan Thompson - the then-boyfriend of her best pal's half-sister Khloe Kardashian - but it seems the animosity between them is fading as onlookers reported there were "good vibes" only at Los Angeles nightspot Bootsy Bellows on Friday.

The Handmaid's Tale, a story of rape and repression in a totalitarian theocracy, isn't something you'd usually associate with parties and fun, so Jenner and Richie's theme choice could perhaps generously be labeled "bold".

In now-deleted Instagram Story posts, Jenner showed off an elaborate "Handmaid's Tale"-inspired setup at her house, complete with servers dressed as Marthas - unmarried, infertile women who work as domestic servants and nannies to high-ranking families".

However, their third match was abandoned without a ball bowled and both Sri Lanka and Pakistan were handed over one point each. However, they have a stand-by player travelling with them, Kasun Rajitha; who can replace Pradeep in the next game.

Followers have taken issue with that celebration, given the fact the handmaids are the subject of near-constant sexual abuse and oppression in the series. Last month, Alabama signed a hotly debated bill into law banning almost all abortions in the state.

Oh, and yeah, Tristan was also at the party but no one talked to him.

"The idea of the government literally forcing me to carry a child to full term is disturbing, ESPECIALLY without any promise of healthcare during my pregnancy or help from the government in raising that future child". Not that attendees weren't committed to recreating the looks seen in the show.

God knows Jenner and her mates aren't the only ones to literally capitalise on Atwood's vision of a theocratic America.
