While reports from France have claimed Liverpool are "well placed" to sign Lille winger Nicolas Pepe, journalists from Merseyside have downplayed any interest.

Pepe impressed for Lille this season, netting 23 goals and providing 12 assists in all competitions.

The Irish company had previously provided the luxury items for many current Liverpool players along with legends Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard, the latter highly recommending the "fantastic" service. However, it seems uncertain whether the club will get the midfielder for another season.

Liverpool FC will be looking to challenge for the Premier League title again next season after they finished second and a point behind the champions this term.

The Whites almost signed James in January but a deal fell through at the last minute - he has now joined Manchester United. James, 21, moves to Old Trafford on the back of just 43 first-team appearances, and had just a year left on his contract too.

The ex-Rangers winger is waiting to find out his Liverpool future and Marcelo Bielsa is keen on the 22-year-old.
