Despite murmurs that Kevin Durant was angling to leave the Golden State Warriors as a free agent this summer, the team reportedly meant to offer the two-time Finals MVP a long-term extension while allowing him to leave the team at any point during the contract, a source told The Athletic's Frank Isola.
Wanda said she then spoke to Durant five to ten minutes after what transpired in Game 5 and that the Golden State Warriors star had this to say: "He just told me not to cry ..."
In addition to Myers, who was on the verge of tears during his press conference, New Yorkers lamented the loss of the Knicks and Brooklyn Nets' top-free agent target.
Woods, who suffered an Achilles injury in 2011, said he could empathise with Durant, who nearly certainly now faces several months of rehab to regain fitness.
"It's an emotional game and fans they're excited", Ibaka explained. That shows you how good our fans are.
"I think that I don't think the fans knew the significance of the injury". I don't know if it's getting out in front of why Kevin Durant was playing tonight considering the severity of the injury, but there are some real issues here.
"And you can see it on his face, how solemn his face went".
The website goes on to praise Durant for being one of the best human beings in basketball and attaches a link to donate towards The Kevin Durant Charity Foundation. "So I just kind of - we don't want that type of stuff".
As for the Celtics, they are going to make Irving a maximum offer, and perhaps their case gets stronger with Irving knowing that Durant is either 1. not going to be healthy for at least a year and 2. perhaps considering returning to Golden State. "It's not my experience with people of this city". The Warriors wound up prevailing 106-105, staving off elimination and sending the series back to Oracle Arena for Game 6 on Thursday night.
