Kamala Harris Spox: Biden 'Seems to Stand by His Opposition to Busing'

Kamala Harris Labels Trump a 'Predator Living in the White House' Joe Biden Says He Wasn't Ready for Kamala Harris to 'Come After' Him on Civil Rights

Iowa is a key state for both candidates as they vie for the Democratic nomination.

In perhaps the most tense moment during the first round of Democratic debates last week, Harris confronted the former vice president over his support for a policy which allowed states to oppose busing, invoking her own experience as a child dealing with segregation.

Biden told Cuomo he could beat Trump in the 2020 election "by just pointing out who I am and who he is and what we're for and he's against". "He didn't handle it", he said.

Cuomo asked Biden how Democrats can have confidence that he can "take on the biggest and the baddest" in Trump who "knows how to fight in the ring one-on-one". "It's time for new leadership".

Harris recalled during the debate how she was benefitted from mandatory school busing in order to integrate public schools and slammed Biden for opposing the controversial policy. "Harris over the weekend or Fourth of July holiday". Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, are pushing it further left on economic and social issues. Among blacks, support for Biden was cut in half. "Look who won last time out", Biden said. The former vice president said he will hold off going after his opponents' previous positions because he doesn't want the debate between Democrats to be backward looking. "If you notice, I'm the guy everybody's talking about".

Biden said that his decades-old position against federally mandated busing to desegregate schools was "taken out of context" by Harris during the debate.

"I was prepared for them to come after me, but I wasn't prepared for the person coming at me the way she came out", Biden said during an interview aired on CNN's "New Day" program Friday morning.

Huawei’s founder states that the softer ban will not have much impact
At the G20 Summit last week, President Donald Trump said that U.S companies would be able to sell components to Huawei. Washington put Huawei on an export blacklist in May, citing national security concerns over its 5G network technology.

He also tried to reassure Democrats concerned about his ability to stand up to Trump. 'He's the bully that I knew my whole life. "He's the bully I've always stood up to".

Embracing his place as a moderate in the 24-candidate Democratic field, Biden said he's open to a woman on the ticket but that it would have to be someone he's "sympatico" with.

What this Democrat doesn't understand is that with her rise will come more scrutiny of the words she speaks. But she won a primary.

I mean, what we should be debating what we do from here.

After two failed runs for the presidency, in 1988 and 2008, and eight years as vice president under Barack Obama, Biden has plenty of history in Iowa, if not success. "He won't get caught flat-footed again", said Dan Callahan, chairman of the Buchanan County Democratic Party.

She said there's been a pattern of predatory behavior from the Trump administration.
