The rebels felt the coalition leaders were trying to create confusion among them by claiming that Mr Siddaramaiah would be the next CM. Gowda is not opposed to any of the Congress leader becoming chief minister.

Conceding that he had discussed about resignation with three MLAs, but withdrew it after party leaders requested him not to leave and withdraw it, Reddy said he tried to speak to Somashekar and inform him about the developments. It is not possible for us to convince the rebel MLAs.

The trust vote is now scheduled for Monday. They also sought clarification on the court's July 17 order, which they said, had prevented the issue of a whip to the legislators.

Senior Congress leader, D K Shivakumar added to the twist by saying that the JD (S) may make way for a Congress chief minister. The apex court had ruled that the rebels can not be compelled to participate in the Assembly proceedings.

Mahesh had served as a minister in the Kumaraswamy government but resigned in October 2018 after the Congress and the BSP could not settle on a seat-sharing agreement during assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

While programme director Muthaya Vanitha has nurtured Chandrayaan-2 over the years, it will be navigated by Ritu Karidhal. "The expert committee identified the root cause of the technical snag and all corrective actions are implemented".

Meanwhile, Chief MinisterKumaraswamy on Sunday made an emotional appeal to a group of dissenting ruling coalition MLAs who have resigned from his cabinet and are camping in Mumbai, to attend the assembly session on Monday.

If the resignations of 15 MLAs (12 from Congress and 3 from JDS) are accepted or if they stay away, the ruling coalition's tally will plummet to 101, (excluding the Speaker) reducing the government to a minority.

One more Congress MLA from Kagawad, Shrimant Patil, who mysteriously disappeared from a resort in Bengaluru to land at a hospital in Mumbai, is also likely to skip the trust vote proceedings, sources said.

The two MLAs, who withdrew support to the Congress-JD (S) government in Karnataka, moved the top court seeking a direction for conducting a floor test forthwith in the state Assembly.

"We pray for an order directing the floor test in the Karnataka Assembly on the vote of confidence moved by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on July 18 be conducted forthwith and completed on or before 5 p.m. on July 22", said the writ petition by the 15 rebels and two Independents.
