In the latest chapter of the country's immigration situation, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids are scheduled to start Sunday.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), officers arrest an undocumented Mexican immigrant during a raid in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn on April 11, 2018 in New York City.

Still, undocumented immigrants like Lupe Lopez of Fort Morgan are concerned. And how are city officials responding?

Brian Lozano, who is the lead organizer for Wind of the Spirit, a Morristown-based immigration advocacy group, said his organization has been flooded with calls recently to give their "Know Your Rights" training sessions to groups across the state. Such a massive round-up would usually be kept under wraps to avoid alerting those who will be targeted.

The administration has been straining to manage a border crisis, and some officials believe flashy shows of force in deporting families would deter others migrants from coming.

Families that are arrested together will be held in family detentions in Texas and Pennsylvania, though some may wind up in hotels until travel documents can be confirmed and finalized due to overcrowding.

Federal agents have expressed apprehension to arresting babies and young children, according to the Times.

A coalition of lawyers has rushed to a federal court in NY to ask a judge to stop the deportations, the Washington Times reported. If the reason the individual didn't appear is because they weren't provided notice of the date, time and place of their immigration hearing, that individual could file a motion to reopen their case.

What does this mean for Chicago, which is a sanctuary city?

The planned raids divided the top leaders at the Department of Homeland Security.

"An ICE deportation warrant is not the same as a deportation warrant". So I think you can expect to see that.

Weeks also said many immigrants come to the US illegally for economic reasons.

Lopez-McCarthy said parents should think about the short-term guardianship of their children. Most of those arrests are made without any special publicity. We want to also send that message, if you want to come here, please do so legally. ICE agents do not have the legal authority to forcibly enter homes.

Moore says while the Grand Rapids region specifically, is not a target, ICE agents already have a presence in the area.

However, immigration advocates in New Jersey said they need to be prepared. "I am asking my community in South Florida to do the same, to have a plan to have the resources to have the information and for us to help each other in our community".

Bourke said ICE "prioritizes the arrest and removal of unlawfully present aliens who pose a threat to national security, public safety and border security".
