He watched the four-year-old miniature chihuahua be carried off in the seagull's beak, but the couple are still hoping he'll be returned to join them and their two other dogs soon.

The information on the missing dog, along with photographs, was shared on local groups for locating missing dogs.

But spare a thought for a woman in the United Kingdom who is distraught after a seagull flew off with her goddamn pet dog.

A pet owner has asked for help to be reunited with her miniature chihuahua after a seagull took it from a garden in Devon.

Seagulls are known to be able to lift clams weighing up to around one kilogram (2.2 pounds) in weight. "So, we're asking members of the public to search their gardens, public spaces, anywhere, for any signs of Gizmo at all".

The dog was rescued before the seagull could carry it away.

"Anyone who lives in the surrounding areas in Paignton please can you keep your eyes open", the search group posted.

"If you have a very tiny little dog I suggest you don't let it run around on your garden as it might well become a meal".

Fortunately, the child did not witness Gizmo being taken away.

"This is obviously an extremely distressing time for her, and not knowing exactly what's happened to her dog has just increased the anguish and the anxiety that she's going through at the moment", Mr May said.

In spite of the unusual circumstances of Gizmo's disappearance, Mr May said there was still hope the chihuahua would be found.
