Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has issued his backing for Alexis Sanchez and says that the forward is "close" to being part of his Manchester United squad again.

The Chilean global looks destined to end his miserable spell at Old Trafford, just over 18 months after his arrival from Premier League rivals Arsenal in 2018.

According to Sky Sports Italy, Inter Milan's representatives are now engaged in negotiations with United over the potential transfer of Sanchez.

Fernando Llorente for free makes far more sense for the Italian giants than paying silly wages for the former Barcelona star.

That's because the Chilean worldwide has agreed a deal with Inter Milan, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Antonio Conte is keen to strengthen his forward options since the exit of Mauro Icardi looks very likely in the upcoming weeks.

JD also reported better-than-expected second-quarter revenue on Tuesday, boosted by stronger sales in its online retail business. Alibaba's cloud division helps companies around the world host their own sites and CEO Daniel Zhang promised more growth ahead.

United would prefer a permanent transfer with Inter paying £22m this summer, although both parties are expected to reach an agreement.

While the the transfer window for England is closed, Premier League clubs are allowed to loan and sell players to foreign clubs until 31 August 2019. But lack of ambition from Arsene Wenger during his days at the Emirates convinced Sanchez force out a move to their arch rivals Manchester United.

Since joining the club in January 2018, he has managed five goals and nine assists in 45 appearances in all competition.

And his spell at the club is now coming to an end.
