After getting announced a year ago without much follow-up, Square Enix has finally revealed the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition release date. Cross-save and cross-play between the Switch, PlayStation 4, and newly announced mobile versions will also be available. As the name suggests, the game is a remastered version of 2003's GameCube-exclusive Final FantasyCrystal Chronicles. The game follows a young group, comprising of four different races, called the Crystal Caravans.
There's also the usual extras that come with these re-releases, like a new post-game dungeon, new costumes, and voiceovers during battles, among other features.
New Dungeons and Bosses: Challenging new dungeons and bosses have been added to the game. These crystals need to be purified once a year and are used to protect settlements from the destructive Miasma. The first character shown off is Laguna Loire who is illustrated by Toshiyuki Itahana who designed the Chocobo and the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series. You follow their journey as they search for Myrrh a substance that can cleanse crystals that protect their world from a risky gas. Brand new bosses and dungeons have been put into the game as well so there's more content to explore over the original release. These are the chronicles of fearless young adventurers who journey to protect their home.
