Officials say four men are dead and another three people were injured in a shooting at a possible gambling location in Crown Heights Saturday morning. They were said to be between the ages of 32 and 49.
NYPD responded to a social club on Utica Avenue in the Weeksville neighborhood of Brooklyn just before 7 a.m. over reports of shots fired. Shea said there was "evidence of gambling" including cards and dice inside.
Officials say the three injured include at least one woman, and that all injuries are serious but not considered to be life-threatening.
According to NBC New York, as of now, authorities are investigating whether or not the shooting had any connection to a hip hop festival taking place across the city on Saturday.
According to police, four men were pronounced dead at the scene. Cops said they wouldn't be surprised if more weapons were found. There have been no prior complaints of gambling at the location, they say.
Police do not have any information yet on what the motive for the shooting might have been, nor do they have any info on a suspect at this time, Magoolaghan said.
The preliminary investigation shows this incident was not gang-related.
While no arrests have been made, Shea said several people were being questioned over the shooting.
