Dallas police officials announced on October 8 the identity of three men they said participated in the killing of Joshua Brown, a witness in the Amber Guyger murder trial.

Moore said the suspects had traveled from Alexandria, La., to Dallas to purchase drugs from Brown. He testified during the trial that he did not hear Guyger order Jean to put his hands up before shooting him, in testimony that supported prosecutors' theory and undercut Guyger's account.

Brown testified that he saw Guyger pacing in the hallway through his peephole, then she went back into the apartment came out, Brown testified.

Brown, 28, was fatally shot Friday at his home in the Atera Apartments, about five miles from the former complex where he, former officer Amber Guyger and their neighbor Botham Jean lived. "We encourage those leaders to be mindful because their words may jeopardize the integrity of the city of Dallas and Dallas Police Department".

Brown shot Jacquerious Mitchell in the chest, according to Moore.

A third suspect, Jacquerious Mitchell, was in custody Tuesday after being wounded in the confrontation with Brown on Friday night in Dallas, said Dallas Assistant Police Chief Avery Moore.

Then, Jacquerious got out of the auto - prompting Brown to order him back inside and shoot him in the chest, according to Moore.

Jacquerious Mitchell told police Green shot Brown twice in the lower body after he got into an altercation with him, Moore said.

Green grabbed Brown's backpack and gun, and then hopped back into the vehicle, driven by the older Michael, Moore said.

A capital murder warrant also was issued Tuesday for Jacquerious Mitchell, who was in custody.

Jacquerious Mitchell is in a Dallas hospital in "critical condition", and under police guard, police said.

Police are still looking for Green and Michael Diaz Mitchell.

Those rumors are not true, Moore said in the news conference.

Police officers later served a search warrant on Brown's apartment, where they confiscated 12 pounds of marijuana, 143 grams of THC cartridges, and $4,000 in cash. Dallas police, conveniently, did not address any of that. "Brown's death was related to the Amber Guyger trial and that DPD was responsible are false", the Dallas Police Department tweeted Tuesday.

During a press conference, the Dallas police expressed regret that some people believed that the murder was directly connected to the case.

"This family and their representatives have consciously avoided speculating about law enforcement involvement in this tragedy, however, due to the proximity of this murder with the trial of Amber Guyger-rumors remain abound", the statement reads. Guyger claims she mistakenly entered the apartment and was sentenced to 10 years in prison last week during a highly publicized trial.
