Real Madrid are said to believe they can agree a cut-price fee for Christian Eriksen in January and would prefer to bring him in before his contract at Tottenham Hotspur expires.

Zinedine Zidane's No1 midfield target was Paul Pogba but Manchester United were not open to selling.

Throughout the whole summer, the Danish worldwide was being linked with a move to the Bernabéu, but in the end, Zidane's men signed another huge player on their wishlist: Eden Hazard. While Real Madrid were supposedly the front runners for his signature, another side have entered the fray now.

Eriksen is keen to move away from Spurs and is excited by Madrid's interest, which would allow him to fight for all the game's biggest trophies.

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was widely tipped for a move to the Bernabéu in the summer but Zinedine Zidane's preference to hold out for Paul Pogba - a move which never materialised - saw the Danish global miss out.

But according to AS and Marca, Eriksen would rather wait until his deal runs out in June so he can leave for free and pick up a huge signing bonus.

However, it's not just Real Madrid that want to sign him, as Bayern Munich are also on red alert.

Perez believes that an offer of £26million would propel Spurs to let go of their midfielder which is far cheaper than the value Manchester United placed on Pogba who was bought for £89.3 million from Juventus three years ago.
