LSU went on the road and took down Alabama, 46-41, on Saturday night to overcome what will likely be the Tigers' biggest hurdle into the College Football Playoff. If Tua Tagovailoa plays, and it looks like he should, that makes the game even more of a big deal.

The Tigers (nine-, 5- Southeastern Assembly, No. two CFP) are now not 2nd fiddle within the SEC West, or perhaps within the playoff rankings.

The Alabama Crimson Tide got off to a slow start against LSU on Saturday, trailing 33-13 at halftime.

The game's opening drive ended with Tagovailoa fumbling the ball at LSU's 8-yard line despite not being touched.

Now Sooner Nation will have its eyes on Alabama-LSU, hoping the Tigers can pull off the upset in Tuscaloosa.

5th-Seeded Nittany Lions Move To Big Ten Semifinals
The ball floated harmlessly toward the middle of the field, but the Nittany Lions were unable to come up with the interception. The Gophers wasted no time to capitalize, as Tanner Morgan found Rashod Bateman for a 66-yard touchdown and took a 7-0 lead.

But Alabama, specifically Najee Harris, responded like champions.

Aside from a pair of explosive touchdown plays - a 77-yard first-quarter punt return by Jaylen Waddle and 64-yard second-quarter touchdown catch by DeVonta Smith - the Tide spent too much of the game being outclassed in all three phases by a conference opponent on their home field. Burrow kept for 18 yards on a 3rd-and-2 with two minutes remaining, setting up a 7-yard Edwards-Helaire run that seemingly put the game on ice with 1:37 remaining. Scored two touchdowns in the final 26 seconds of the first half in a pivotal flurry that threatened to be overshadowed by the second half drama. Then there's the late, fourth-quarter scoring drive drive, when Alabama cut it to 39-34 and he made a first-down run on third-and-2 that he punctuated with a first-down signal.

Right Now LSU is Number one ranked team in the NCAA. He attended a rally in Monroe, Louisiana, on Wednesday and he'll be back in the state this coming week, two days before Louisiana voters have their say. On the ground, Clyde Edwards-Helaire is leading the team with 683 yards and eight touchdowns.

It's only the end of the first half in Tuscaloosa, but LSU quarterback Joe Burrow - the hottest player in the entire 2020 NFL Draft class - is absolutely shredding the Alabama defense.
