Louisville Slugger announced on Thursday, Nov. 7 Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich as a victor of a 2019 Silver Slugger Award.

Cruz has now won three Silver Slugger awards in his career - he also was honored in 2015 and 2017 while with Seattle - and joins Paul Molitor (1996) as the second Twins DH ever to win.

Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman and Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. were named among eight first-time winners of Silver Slugger Awards, an honor given to the best offensive player at each position in the National League and American League.

Bregman, a finalist for the 2019 AL MVP Award, posted a 1.105 OPS this season with 41 home runs and an MLB-best 119 walks, leading the Astros to the American League pennant. Cruz joined Hank Aaron (1963) and Barry Bonds (2003 and 2004) as the only three players in baseball history to hit 40 homers at age 39-or-older.

In earning Silver Slugger honors, Realmuto is the first Phillies player to do so since second baseman Chase Utley in 2009, according to The Inquirer's Scott Lauber, who adds the only other Phillies catcher to win was Darren Daulton in 1992.

MLB's most productive hitters for 2019 were recognized Thursday with the announcement of the annual Silver Slugger awards.

Garver had 32 home runs and 67 RBI (30 homers and 65 RBI as a catcher). He recorded a.413 on-base percentage and a.590 slugging percentage while hitting safely in 13 of the 17 games on the way to a World Series championship.
