Hector Kansi proposed to his now fiancé Nonhlanhla in front of a large crowd whilst dining at a Vaal KFC outlet.

A proposal by a South African man to his fiancee in a Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) branch in the country has set social media abuzz and gotten a lot of people talking.

While some strangers offered to help design wedding invites, others said they would make traditional wedding outfits for the pair.

KFC thereafter got wind of the footage and on Thursday took to its handle to share the video clip and asked people to help find the couple.

Then companies started throwing in gifts.

"South Africa, you guys are awesome!" Someone needs to drive them there. "We would have never imagined that our love story would have touched so many of you", the couple said.
