Nearly 3,000 people turned up to watch the show in Florida in person, while Twitch reports a streaming peak of 236,000 concurrently stopping by on Twitch, too.

Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 is over, but the celebration will continue all through the night after the speedrunning event has ushered in its tenth year with a new fundraising record.

Game speedrunning marathon Awesome Games Done Quick has raised over $3 million following this year's week-long run. With that money added to the amassed total of donations that had already reached $2.5 million raised, the $3 million mark was within reach.

Australian PM takes major polling hit amid bushfires
As of Sunday, at least 120 fires continue to burn across the state of New South Wales alone, with 40 of them uncontrolled. The money will be targeted at threatened species including koalas and also be used to restore damaged animal habitats.

As always, a plethora of Speedrunners attended en-masse to show off their skills and attempt to beat records on their favourite games. Not only Games Done Quick has set milestones towards a good cause, but they also kept the train running for ten years strong. In the end, AGDQ 2020 raised nearly $100,000 more than SGDQ 2019, so we could very well see this new record broken once SGDQ 2020 rolls around in June. From humble beginnings, raising donations around $10,000, they first raised over $1 million in 2014 and have now raised more than $3 million in the last two events. That max donation total was nearly certainly the funds brought in from bit donations and channel subscriptions throughout the week, which are typically tallied toward the end of the show.

In total, 134 games were run during the seven-day non-stop event.
