To guarantee that your tree is picked up, residents must remove all tree stands regardless of material, all decorations, any tree bags and foreign objects.

After the deadline, trees will only be accepted at the county landfill, located at 246 Landfill Road in St. Pauls, Walters said.

The township department of public works will be picking up Christmas trees from Thursday, January 2 through Friday, January 17.

All Christmas cards without glitter can be recycled, as can real Christmas trees.

The city is asking residents in single-unit homes to set out trees for collection next to their usual waste area before 7 a.m. on January 9.

Kirk Cousins comes through in 1st playoff win
The Bills added another 40-yard field goal at the end of the second quarter to push the lead to 13-0 at halftime. Make that nine after Sunday's game-winner, when he pulled in the perfectly placed touchdown pass from Cousins.

Trees longer than 1.8 m (6') must be cut in half so that they fit in the truck.

The township asks that trees be secured three feet off the street along the curb for collection. Trees put out too early sometimes become frozen to the ground. I go around collecting up the corpses left out with the bins (clearly not the ones destined for the council recycling scheme) and take them back to my allotment. The city of Lumberton also will collect trees for disposal at no cost.

Do not place trees in plastic wrapping. This year, instead of bringing the old Christmas tree to the curb, the not-for-profit, private land conservation group suggested putting the tree in the backyard.

Starting Monday, Londoners with curbside collection can have their trees collected to be chipped and composted.
