Shane Warne on Monday called for a five-match Test series, including a day/night game between India and Australia next season, after Virat Kohli asserted that his side is willing to play with the pink ball Down Under later this year.

India will be playing three ODIs in Mumbai (Jan 14), Rajkot (Jan 17) and Bengaluru (Jan 19) against Australia on home turf.

This week's three-match one-day series between the two teams will act as something of a forerunner to next summer's major prize. We're ready and up for the challenge whether it's Gabba, Perth.it doesn't matter to us. The hosts want to start the series at the Gabba in Brisbane, where they have not lost a Test for a long time. "It's become a very exciting feature of any Test series and we're open to playing day-night Tests", Kohli said earlier in the day.

"We should not look forward to easy games and, going to Australia, you should not expect anything easy". We do have the skill sets as a team now to compete against anyone in the world anywhere. "We're pretty excited for it".

Meanwhile, the former Australian captain Ricky Ponting turned predictor for the upcoming series during a Q&A session on his official Twitter handle.

Finch-led Australia edged out hosts India 3-2 past year after losing the opening two games and Kohli believes a new close-fought battle will be fought this week. "In the year of the World Cup as many games as we play together as a team, it's going to benefit us, especially the white-ball cricket".

Laura Whitmore reveals Love Island has been overshadowed by Caroline Flack's arrest
You select a character and design them as you please - a bit like SIMS - before embarking on the typical Love Island journey. ITV confirmed previously that Laura Whitmore would host winter Love Island in January , taking over from Caroline .

"Having won past year, that gives us a lot more confidence going back", Kohli said in Mumbai on Monday (January 13).

The reason behind Australia's sky-high confidence is also the return of their premier batters Steve Smith and David Warner, who both proved their worth in the ODI World Cup.

Kohli also admitted that it would be a challenge for his bowlers to break through the Australian batting order next summer. They are challenging every team, they are dominating a few teams as well.

Kohli said India will need a top performance in every game.
