It's been a while since Ubisoft released the next level of the Prince of Persia game for PCs and gaming consoles. It turns out that Ubisoft was actually working on a Prince of Persia VR experience, using the IP to create a virtual escape room.

Now the French company has put its studio in Düsseldorf in charge of developing Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time, a multiplayer escape room VR game. To escape, teams will need to work together and figure out how to escape a reimagined Fortress of Time. Virtual climbing and verticality play a role in the experience, and riddles can be solved using the ability of the headline artifact to stop, rewind or advance time. "They are asked to help her to stop the evil plans of a Magi who is attempting to restore the sands to the Hourglass of Time and create an army of Sand Monsters". This was last seen in the 2004 game Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. "The Sands of Time series seemed to be the ideal fit, because it not only offers a fantasy setting, but the original games also come with many elements that fit perfectly into VR, such as puzzles and, of course, using powers such as time control". Also similar to the games, Ubisoft says it has tried to incorporate some amount of the verticality and traps the games are known, but that the focus is on time control.

"Controlling time in VR is a one-of-a-kind experience where players will feel the power of the dagger of time in their own hands".

Caught on camera: Man being placed under arrest body slams OH officer
The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Harris had the officer over his head for a brief moment before falling to the ground. When police in OH tried to arrest college football player Michael Harris on Monday, things did not go well.

Ubisoft has made two other VR-based games including one for Assassin's Creed: Origins, and the other based around Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.

Further details on the upcoming title can be found on the Ubisoft blog.

We can expect more news from Ubisoft later this year as the game firm is among the list of exhibitors set to appear at E3 2020.
