Valve's VR-bound Half-Life: Alyx Launches To Great Reception

Half-Life: Alyx launches to critical acclaim How Half-Life: Alyx Teases the Series' Future

That's a 13-year wait between series entries, and Polygon had a simple question for legendary Valve game designer Robin Walker, who has worked on games like Team Fortress Classic, Half-Life 2Y Dota 2: Will we have to wait another 13 years for more? Traditional outlets like GameSpot say "the series' staples are as great as ever here, and in its most powerful moments, Half-Life: Alyx confidently shows you why it couldn't have been done any other way". While every previous Half-Life has focused on delivering experiences through our monitors, Half-Life: Alyx exclusively uses VR to immerse the player in a way traditional gaming can not. While various reasons such as "scope creep" forced the team to take longer and longer on episodes that were supposed to take a year to make a piece, Casali also spoke to the factor of working on Source 2 at the same time as Half-Life 2 as definite issue.

After many years, we finally got a third Half-Life game not called Half-Life 3.

"In the past, if you were one of the groups of people who were courageous enough to work on something you had to admit, it could be Half-Life 3 ..." "I understand how to start composing code for this today, I understand how to start working".

Perhaps the greatest question leading up to launch was whether or not Alyx would be available on Oculus Quest, which is a completely wireless and standalone VR experience.

MP's support for NHS volunteers
Professor Stephen Powis, NHS national medical director, said: "We are truly amazed by the number of people who want to come and help us in the war against coronavirus". "There are four different ways that we can do our bit to help our NHS at this time through volunteering".

Half-Life has always been a bit of a horror game. "The shock of having that guy come around the corner and latch onto you before you'd even know what was going on was just too much".

As you can see, Valve is also encouraging social distancing in this tough period for all of us.

That said, Walker was willing to give fans some hope for the future.

"The best thing we can do at this point is to gauge the response to this product". We'll be avoiding all story spoilers that aren't relevant to the tease itself, but know that we ARE discussing a scene from the very end of Alyx if you plan to keep reading. "I'm too old for that".
