Chelsea do not know when the World Cup victor plans to return to training, which began this week in small groups with social distancing measures in place.

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante runs with the ball during the English Premier League football match between Chelsea and Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge in London on 12 January 2019.

Although N'Golo Kante returned to Chelsea for training earlier this week, the 2018 FIFA World Cup victor has now reportedly decided he will not train under the current circumstances.

The 29-year-old will now train at home and the club will continue their efforts to make their training ground safe for the rest of their squad.

Kante, who tested negative for the virus during the first batch of checks, is said to be unconvinced it is safe to train with his teammates.

National Basketball Association season restart plan seems to gain serious momentum
If a positive test would "shut us down, we probably shouldn't go down this path", Silver said, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski . As part of the NBA's plan to return to action, players being recalled from other cities and countries would be quarantined.

Phase one training began at Premier League clubs this week with hopes that the season, suspended on 13 March, can resume in mid-June.

Tests did not reveal any heart concerns but he missed Chelsea's next game as a precaution.

The former Leicester City star lost his older brother to a heart attack just weeks before the 2018 World Cup, and a few months earlier, the player himself fainted in training before being given a clean bill of health.

Kante's decision follows a similar stance taken by Watford captain Troy Deeney.

The 31-year-old brought up certain studies that show that the virus affects people of various ethnicities differently, and that his newly born son has had breathing issues, and therefore does not want to put his life in jeopardy.
