Knifeman shot dead by police after Glasgow stabbing spree

All of the victims are still in the hospital, with PC Whyte now in a "critical but stable" condition. The other injured are aged from 17 to 53 years.

"Police Scotland continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident in Glasgow".

'Around 20 police vehicles, armed officers, sniffer dogs and riot shields are on the scene at West George Street in Glasgow.

Footage of the incident showed armed police outside a building as a number of people ran out with their hands up.

"One day he said "I want to attack them".

On Friday, a man was stabbed to death in a hotel in Glasgo City Center, Scotland, killing three people.

The suspect was shot dead by police at a Glasgow hotel that appeared to be largely housing asylum-seekers and refugees.

"All of us should bear them in mind, bear their families in mind and make sure we focus on all of the great things that bring our city together", Sturgeon said.

The hotel houses asylum seekers from around the world.

"They were decanted from the accommodation they were in into hotels, such as the Park Inn", he said.

"During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the hotel has been occupied for temporary housing", said Radisson Hotel Group spokesman Tom Flanagan Karttunnen. "When I opened the lift it was all blood".

The five other male victims injured in the attack also remained in hospital.

Suspect Mr Adam died after being shot by specialist officers from the force.

Another witness, who gave her name as Louisa, told Sky News she saw "people being treated with blood on the ground".

He told the PA news agency: "I saw a man lying on the ground, of African descent, with no shoes on. I don't know if it was a bullet wound, a stab wound, or what it was".

The incident is thought to have taken place in the hotel's reception and stairwell, with one of those injured believed to be a receptionist.

Police said all the injured remained in hospital.

"We are continuing to deal with the incident on West George Street #Glasgow and would ask people to avoid the area".

"Officers were on the scene within two minutes, and armed officers shortly afterwards, and the incident was quickly contained".

"I would like to reassure the public that at this time we are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident".

Assistant Chief Constable Steve Johnson said the attack was not being treated as terrorism.

"As the first responders on scene, myself and my colleague did what all police officers are trained for to save lives".

"It's been a awful afternoon for the city of Glasgow", Sturgeon said.

Among those injured in the attack was Constable David Whyte. I offer my personal support to all those affected.

"We appreciate families of police officers in Glasgow will be anxious to hear that a police officer has been stabbed".
