On Tuesday, health officials in the state of Victoria reported 64 new virus infections with more than 7,000 active cases around the country.

Any person (whether a Queensland resident or non-Queensland resident) who has been in any local government area within the State of Victoria within the last 14 days should not come to Queensland.

Residents of those suburbs will be allowed to leave the house for four reasons: shopping for food and supplies, care and caregiving, exercise, and for study or work - but only if you can not do so from home.

He said police would be actively enforcing the suburban lockdown.

He added main transport corridors "in and out of these suburbs will be the subject of booze bus-type checks".

Air New Zealand may begin diverting flights away from Melbourne, as the state of Victoria goes back into lockdown to try to contain a second Covid-19 wave.

The businesses and facilities in these areas that have been able to recently reopen, including beauty parlours, gyms, libraries and swimming pools, will again be closed.

"I will have conversations with other state leaders to explain that and to thank them in advance of the extra load that they will carry", Mr Andrews said.

Kuo also said that a 10.8-inch iPad will be arriving this year, while an 8.5-inch tablet is planned for the first half of 2021. Last week images of a 20W iPhone charger leaked , suggesting Apple meant to ship the iPhone 12 with a more powerful adapter.

From July 3, pubs, cafes, restaurants and clubs will not be restricted to a maximum number of people, provided there is 4 sq/m of space per person.

In a press briefing, Victorian State Premier Daniel Andrews ordered residents in 10 zip codes to stay home for the next four weeks and only travel to work or to stores to buy essential items.

All affected businesses will be given a $5000 grant or a payroll tax refund.

Tough border measures will also be introduced for anyone coming from Victoria, including mandatory hotel quarantine. By comparison, the most populous state, neighboring New South Wales, and the third-most populous, Queensland, both reported no new cases.

Andrews said the flight diversion would last for a fortnight.

"We know that this will have a dramatic effect on the AFL but we are adopting a position in South Australia which is not dissimilar to what has been announced for Queensland", he said.

"(But) we've got to protect the people of South Australia - we are not prepared to go backwards".
