Some 16 states have paused their reopening and at least 36 states are trending upward trends in cases compared to the previous week.

Dr Anne Schuchat, principal deputy director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), warned that the USA is not responding like other countries who have shown success in containing the coronavirus, and has allowed the virus to spread much more widely and rapidly.

"The numbers speak for themselves".

The country is "going in the wrong direction" in terms of controlling the spread of COVID-19, Fauci said, while testifying before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

"I am also quite concerned about what we are seeing evolve right now in several states, Fauci said".

Dr Fauci said Florida, Arizona, Texas and California are the four states now being affected the most by the pandemic.

As cases in many states continue to climb, infection rates in the Northeast have been declining, including in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey and NY. "We're going to continue to be in a lot of trouble, and there's going to be a lot of hurt if that does not go away". "It is not a suppression of your freedom", Adams said. "For people who are younger, people who don't look like me, they probably need to be hearing this, not just from government officials but from people who are in their circles, their influencers, people who they respect".

"There's no doubt that wearing masks protects you", Fauci said. He spoke about needing to self-quarantine after a member of his staff was diagnosed with the virus and said the Senate physician credited the staffer's mask with protecting Alexander from infection. "If you are outside your home and can't socially distant, you should wear a mask at all times". "If you're against Trump, you do".

Joe speaks to us of the beauty of the music and the life. "Gain prepared, your personal life is regarding to begin". In order to get back, Joe links with 22 (voiced by Tina Fey ) who is cynical at best about being "alive".

"Either be locked down or you see people in bars, not wearing masks, not avoiding crowds, not paying attention to physical distancing", Fauci described.

"I think we need to emphasize the responsibility we have as individuals and as part of a societal effort to end the epidemic and we all have to play a part in that".

Fauci said G4 is still in the examination stage - "It's not so-called, an immediate threat".

"We should not look at the public health endeavors as being an obstruction to opening up". "Make public health work for you as opposed to against you".

The United States is leading the world in both officially confirmed infections and fatalities as it continues to see surges in new cases, hospitalizations and deaths in many states.

"If you want the return of college football this year, wear a face covering", Adams said. That's less effective than many of today's vaccines but independent experts say that would be a good start against the virus.

Some health experts have expressed worry that the FDA will rush to approve a vaccine before enough is known about safety or efficacy but the agency sought to allay those fears with the guidance.

Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., cited a survey conducted in late May that found only about half of Americans intend to get a COVID-19 vaccine when one becomes available.
