This is the second most cases recorded in a single week for the county, and ties for the second the most cases in a single day.

The county notes that between July 23 and July 29, 4.1 percent of COVID-19 tests had come back positive.

In Marshall County: Henry, six cases out of 324 tests. This week's totals bring the county to 1,359 cases since March.

The World Health Organization has said that in countries that have conducted extensive testing for COVID-19, the positivity rate should remain at 5% or lower for at least 14 days. Maryland has reported a total of 3,374 deaths from the virus statewide. Two residents died this week from COVID-19: one man in his 60s and another in his 90s.

Scientists are investigating the use of blood plasma from recovering COVID-19 patients as a tool to prevent infection in others. These individuals can donate plasma every 28 days, which is more frequent than whole blood of every 56 days.

The state as a whole reported 989 new positive cases.

The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen four days of positivity increases and three days of hospital admission increases.

Today, hospitalizations throughout the state were reported at 9,296 and 1,648 cases were reported hospitalized in North Texas.

Marshall County has the tenth highest number of COVID-19 confirmed cases. Putnam County has had eight confirmed cases. IL now has a total of 176,896 cases statewide, including 7,478 deaths. In a news release, DOH said it planned to have its data dashboard fixed Saturday evening.
