Florida reports more than 4,000 new COVID-19 cases

The DuPage County Health Department on Saturday reported 209 new cases of COVID-19 in the county, with two deaths, a woman in her 40s and a man in his 70s. In the previous 13 days combined, there were 101 new cases in the county, an average of just over seven per day.

Setting aside those recent reporting anomalies, Saturday's number was the highest since August 22, when the state reported more than 4,300 new cases. 1 county resident is being hospitalized out of the area and 3 county residents are hospitalized locally. The region's positivity rate increased from 7.4% to 7.9%.

Within this region, Kane County's rolling seven-day positivity average jumped almost a full percentage point once again and is now 9.9%. 282 are people that have received positive test results and 33 are presumptive.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath.
