Former Home Improvement star arrested for assaulting girlfriend

Zachery Ty Bryan, who played the character Brad on the sitcom "Home Improvement", was arrested overnight in Eugene, Oregon, after allegedly assaulting a woman he's been in a relationship with, police said Saturday.

The Eugene Police Department says officers were dispatched to a North East Eugene apartment Friday night on a report of a physical dispute.

It was revealed further that Bryan was found by officers "sitting outside an apartment".

We're told cops were also told Zachery tried taking the woman's phone away when she tried calling 911. before she was ultimately able to escape and get to a safe place. "Bryan was taken into custody without incident and lodged at the Lane County Jail on charges of strangulation (APA), assault in the fourth degree (APA), and interfering with making a report", revealed the rep. The victim declined to receive medical treatment. He grinned for his mugshot, which was released by the sheriff's office. He has not yet entered a plea. He most recently starred as Thor in the TV movie "Thor: Hammer of the Gods" in 2009, according to his IMDB page. He's listed as the executive producer for the science fiction thriller called Warning and Finding 52, which is a feature length documentary that is still in post-production.
