Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Wednesday on July 17 at Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge at Windsor in a secret ceremony, attended only by their close family, including Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. Her Majesty also wore the dress again to the London premiere of the film Lawrence of Arabia in 1962 and the State Opening of Parliament in 1966.

While royal fans across the world were left awestruck with Princess Beatrice's decision to wear her grandmother's wedding gown at her own wedding, the princess never publicly shared her thoughts regarding her experiences, until now.

"Thank you to everyone who has sent in and tweeted their best wishes for our special day in July", she tweeted.

The vintage gown was borrowed from Queen Elizabeth's private collection, will be displayed at Windsor Castle from September 24. "Edo and I are so excited to embark on this new chapter together", she wrote with a heart emoji.

Beatrice and Edo were married in a romantic service in July, along with the guests included her grandparents, and the Queen and Prince Philip, along with her parents, Prince Andrew of York and Sarah, Duchess of York.

Beatrice, 32, and Edoardo, 37, began dating in October 2018 and announced their engagement a year ago. I hope many of you can see the exhibition, which is still open at Windsor Castle.

Many fans praised the queen for wearing her grandmother's dress, and one called it a "beautiful gesture".

Beatrice chose a wedding dress with sentimental value!

The details of the wedding ceremony were not released in advance and the couple was originally supposed to get married at the Chapel Royal, followed by a reception in the gardens of Buckingham Palace - but their big day has been postponed because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Princess Beatrice also thanked her well-wishers for their support.

Last month Beatrice broke her silence about her secret wedding, claiming it was "so much fun" in a video for the Forget Me Not Children's Hospice where she announced the winners of the organisation's Kids Summer Art Competition 2020. The wedding was also attended by The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
