Google & Facebook Allow Employees Working From Home Until 2021

It is also said that employees who can work from home, they can do their work from home till the end of the year, but those who cannot work without coming to office, they can start coming to office from July.

The company said it would continue to pay hourly employees who may not be able to work due to reduced staffing, office closures, or if they're sick.

Keeping in mind the only way possible of prevention, technology giants Google and Facebook have announced an extension of their work from home flexibility to their workers.

CEO Sundar Pichai said employees who physically needed to be in the office will be allowed back either in June or July, but with increased safety precautions and a "different" in-office experience. Employees who are now working from home, however, will be allowed to continue doing so until the end of the year.

Social media firm Facebook has allowed its workers who are able to work remotely to do so until the end of the year. Earlier, Google had told all the employees through email that it is not possible to come to office before June but now it has been chose to extend the work from home.

In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Jacquelline Fuller, head of Google.org, said: "If we can work remotely, if we can work from home, and help take some of the pressure off and flatten the curve, we will do that".

The company has given full-time employees $1,000 bonuses to help cover childcare costs and any unexpected expenses that come with remote working.
