A Trump Organization spokesperson for Lara did not immediately respond to a DailyMail.com inquiry on whether she is considering a run for public office.

Lara Trump, wife of the US president's middle son, Eric Trump, has recently been telling associates that she is considering a run for a US Senate seat in her home state of North Carolina, the New York Times reported on Thursday, citing "three allies." Richard Burr, who announced he will not be running for reelection in 2022.

Lara Lea Trump is married to Eric Trump and has been receiving a six-figure salary as an "advisor" to her father-in-law's campaign.

She previously worked as a trainer and a television producer for the Insider Edition.

The 38-year-old drew criticism earlier this year after a Huffington Post report from "top Republicans" alleged that she was receiving some $180,000 a year via former Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale's, "Parscale Strategy".

'In North Carolina, in particular, she's a household name and people know her. "It would be formidable", said Kellyanne Conway, a former White House official and Trump campaign director in 2016. "Unlike many typical politicians, she connects with people and is a compelling messenger".

However, Lara did not personally confirm her plans for the 2022 elections. Even in U.S. election 2020, the state residents voted for Donald Trump but by a smaller margin than in 2016. Her efforts in 2016, as in Trump's second run in 2020, targeted women voters as part of a campaign called "Women for Trump".

Political experts also believed that it will be a tight race if Lara Trump intends to run in 2022.

Prior to working for the White House, Meadows was a representative for North Carolina's 11th Congressional District. Pat McCrory, Lt. Gov. Dan Forrest, and even former Rep. Mark Meadows, President Donald Trump's chief of staff.
